Applications of RHEWUM Screening Machines

Coal and coke
Coal consists of more than 70 vol.-% resp. more than 50 wt.-% of carbon. Coal is base material for the production of coke resp. baking coal and graphite. Furthermore coal is used for the extraction of liquid hydrocarbon. The importance of coal can bee seen from the fact that the coal equivalent still is the reference value for the caloric value of other fuels.
After coking a significant amount of coke is used for the reduction of ores, mainly iron ore, in blast furnaces.
Besides had coal lignite is used for power generation. The coal is grinded, dried and after the screening of oversize particles blasted to the power station boiler. With up to 50% lignite has a very high moisture content. Further types of coal are gas-flame coal, bituminous coal, forge coal, lean coal and anthracite as well as pith coal, shungite coal with an extremely high carbon content and Wealden coal.
Coke is a solid carbonic substance gained from bituminous coal. The volatile matter is removed in coking plants and the carbon and remaining ash are fusing. Coke burns with a nearly invisible blue flame without appearance of unburned carbon and visible flue gas.
During coal processing resp. coal preparation the coal is crushed and handled several times. The removal of the coal dust arising from this and the securing of a maximum particle size at high screening feed rates are the requirements of screening technology. Screening machines classifying coal dust and. coal powder have to be explosion proof with the respective certificates.
