Applications of RHEWUM Screening Machines

Powdered metal
Powdered metal are mostly produced by milling, but it is also possible to produce them in a chemical, physical or electrolytic process. Common powdered metals are magnesium, aluminium, zinc and iron powder.
Aluminium powder consist of fine discs or flakes and they are produced e.g. by processing (milling and screening) of leftovers of foil. Particle size is between 1 mm and 100 mm. Aluminium grit is produced by pulverization of liquid aluminium. Aluminium powder and aluminium grit is used in chemical industry for varnish and paint, in building industry e.g. in breeze blocks and in pyrotechnical industry for explosives, pyrotechnic articles etc. Magnesium powder is fine processed light alloy. Magnesium has a low melting point as well as a low boiling point. In contact with oxygen like aluminium it reacts with a bright flame. Magnesium powder is used in chemical industry, in pyrotechnics and in metallurgy. Required particle size is below < 63 µm with coarse particles near zero.
To bring metal powders to the needed shape they are sintered. For this process particles sizes below 0.6 mm are required. Forming of the powder is done by compression resp. compacting by vibration and binders as additives. In the sintering process the powder particles are put together at their contact area by diffusion of the atoms. After sintering the spacings of open-cell workparts can be filled in a dipping bath by another fused metal. Sintered metals are porous, impermeabilities up to 99% are possible.
