The RHEWUM story

1927

Foundation of RHEWUM GmbH ( Rheinische Werkzeug und Maschinenfabrik) in Remscheid, emanating from the Alexander Gassinger & Co. AG.

1930

RHEWUM moves to its current location, Rosentalstrasse in Remscheid. Extension of the product portfolio including tools and devices, pressing, punching and cupping tools.

1936

RHEWUM becomes a supplier of the aircraft industry due to experience in aluminum handling.

1947

After the Second World War, RHEWUM uses their existing machinery to begin manufacturing storm lanterns and cooking pots. Rhewum storm lanterns today are highly sought-after collectibles. More information - see here.

1950

Production start-up for the first magnetic screening machine.

1967

Delivery of the 1000th. RHEWUM screening machine.

1969

In 1969, RHEWUM as the holder of patents in screening technology, enters a cooperation with Sintokogia Ltd, Nagoya, Japan. The agreement pertains to the manufacture of all RHEWUM screens currently under development at that time.

1970

First patents for RHEmoto^® screening machines – today a frequently imitated standard in screening technology.

1971

National Engineering, USA, is licensed to manufacture the RHEWUM/National magnetic screening machine.

1975

Delivery of the 2000th. RHEWUM machine.

1982

Construction of a new administration building by Prof. Radtke, Wuppertal.

1985

Delivery of the 3000th. RHEWUM machine.

1994

Delivery of the 4000th. RHEWUM machine.

2000

RHEWUM is assigned a patent for a multiple torque drive for a directly excitated vibration screen.

2003

Begin of a cooperation with Dataschalt GmbH in the field of optical sorting and enhancement of existing software.

2004

Delivery of the 5000th. RHEWUM machine.

2005

RHEWUM begins sale and distribution of the RHEsize, an optical online measurement that scales the shape and size of particles, and which can be implemented directly into the material handling process.

2008

Successful commissioning of the first Datasort machine for processing rock salt in deep mining.

2009

Assignation of a patent for a RHEWUM screening machine with integrated cross-flow sifter.

2012

First sales of the progressive generation of the efficient RHEWUM Sifter - RHEjet.

2013

New RHEWUM FlowChecker: The newly developed flow sensor makes it possible to measure the capacity on conveyor belts both visually, contactless and dirt resistant - even in harsh production environments.

2014

In autumn 2014 RHEWUM markets the innovative technical ScreenCheck app, initially available for all Apple devices. The app consists of three functions and is a tremendous asset for those handling screening and bulk materials.

2016

The technical app is renamed „RHEWUM ScreenSpector” and features the extended option to apply custom templates to the SizeChecker feature.

2016

Delivery of the 6000th. RHEWUM machine.

2017

The RHEWUM Spiral Conveyor RHElift joins the portfolio of RHEWUM GmbH. As well as transporting any material, the product can be simultaneously heated, dried or cooled.

2017

Founding of Polymesh GmbH to manufacture durable polyurethane screen panels designed to increase the efficiency of screening machines.

2017

Foundation of RHEWUM India Pvt.

2018

Opening of the new RHEWUM Technical Center, enabling optimal machine solutions for specific requirements through screening trials.

2019

Introducing the PowderJet400 - our compact screening machine that is built on the principle of batchwise air jet screening. Ideally suited for screening metal powders in the 3D printing sector.

2020

Installation of 22 kW electric vehicle charging stations for visitors as part of RHEWUM's commitment to sustainability.

2020

We start producing our own vibration motors (GeniusDrive).

2021

Launch of GeniusDrivePlus motors, which monitor machine performance via sensors and reduce maintenance costs.

2021

Foundation of RHEWUM America Inc.

2022

RHEWUM has installed a photovoltaic system that covers 70% of its energy requirements and opened the “RHEworld” sustainability portal.

2023

6,500th screening trial in the Technical Center, delivering tailored, efficient solutions.

Launch of the RHEmotox vibrating screen, providing energy-efficient and low-maintenance performance, especially effective for fine to medium grains (0.5 mm–6.0 mm) due to its strong vibrations.
