Screening machines for potassium and potash salt

When processing potash, screening machines are initially used during extraction, where the mineral extracted from the mines is crushed and pre-classified. In the further process, screening machines are required in compacting, granulate screening or loading. In addition, screening machines are found in wet classification and dewatering.

Due to their low energy requirements, screening machines are not only suitable for the pure production of saleable products, but can also relieve crushing plants and thus avoid cost-intensive overgrinding.

High capacity screening machines for potash salt

For separations from 2 to 25 mm (10 Me. to 1″), as produced during prescreening, compacting or loading, robust and low-maintenance double-frequency screening machines are particularly suitable. Due to their special drive principle, they achieve enormous screening capacities with consistently high quality separations.  The special drive concept involves the use of two unbalanced motors with different speeds, which are mounted at the inlet and outlet.

At the inlet area, the potash is loosened up and sorted ("segregation") by the larger amplitude, followed by smaller oscillation amplitudes at the outlet area, which increase the screening accuracy and thus effectively separate the oversized grains.

Precise separations in potash screening

For finer separations below 2 mm (10 Me.) (e.g. of KCL crystallisate) the screening machine with direct excitation of the screen cloth RHEmoto® is recommended. It is suitable for exact separations at high throughput rates.

On the outside of the static screen housing, robust vibration motors generate vibrations which are transmitted directly into the screen mesh via vibration axes. The inclination of the fabric is used for transport. A thin layer screening is performed on the screen cloth at high screenings speed. Any stuck grain is reliably freed thanks to an adjustable cleaning cycle. Due to the low moving masses (only the mesh vibrates), high accelerations are achieved at the screening surface. These help to overcome adhesive forces in moist or sticky material (e.g. rolling granules).

Screening machines for wet processing of potash salt

The wet classification of potash alt requires schort screen lengths, as a rapid loss of the carrier liquid would inhibit further wet screening. Therefore, the RHEflex® 1+1 relies on double feeding within the same achine and makes high screening capacities possible in spite of its compact design.

After the enrichment of the potassium part, the during the wet screening process, the potash mash is dewatered, compacted and screened. For dewatering potash, we recommend the linear vibrating screen RHEdry, which operates at a high frequency suitable for efficient removal of solid particles from suspensions.
