Successful commissioning of RHEWUM DataSort at esco GmbH, Grasleben
Meike Schulz, RHEWUM GmbH
The first RHEWUM DataSort Plant started its commercial operation at the optical sorting of rock salt in deep mining at esco GmbH in Grasleben after only three days of commissioning.
During the commissioning the optical sorting plant demonstrated its capabilities in terms of sorting quality and quantity. The substantial factor is the new software generation with its unique option of combining several different sorting criteria. Additionally the system offers an active background as well as a dynamic control of air-jets in order to reduce the operation costs. The sorting task is the quality improvement of 80 t/h of rock salt at a particle size from 30 mm to 80 mm and a maximum weight of 1,2 kg per single piece. The pre-classification of rock salt has been realized by a RHEWUM Screen Type RIUS. The location of the preparation plant has been consciously chosen under ground in order to reduce the distance between the mining and the sorting. The equipment has been designed and manufactured according to the dimensions of the shaft.
