79th Annual Convention and International Sugar Expo in India
RHEWUM continues to be a strong partner for the Indian sugar industry, and representatives of RHEWUM are regular speakers at the Sugar Technologists' Association of India (STAI). On October 4th and 5th, STAI and the Indian National Institute of Sugar are holding an international convention on all things sugar at the home of the National Sugar Institute at Kanpur. RHEWUM India joined other sugar experts for two days of exchange in the face of new government plans.
To reduce India's dependence on oil imports and to improve sustainability on the way to a Self-reliant India, the Indian government has plans to significantly increase the amount of ethanol in commercial fuel. The ethanol is to be sourced from sugar cane, which casts the Indian sugar industry in a new role as provider of sustainable fuels. Distillation of sugar cane into ethanol would also provide the sugar industry with an additional income, and could help solve the problems associated with overproduction.
As experts on wet and dry screening of a wide range of liquids and solids, and with extensive experience across a wide spectrum of industrial applications, RHEWUM will continue to assist Indian businesses as they take up additional roles.
